After completing the acquisition of Symbian, Nokia aims to conquer the entire field of smartphones. Try to do that through the new mobile platform open, which gave rise to Symbian Foundation, which is being developed by several companies worldwide. All rightly expect that the goal is to beat competing platforms such as the iPhone or Android.
But it is not. Nigel Clifford, managing director Symbian, did understand that Nokia would be very happy to accept the help of Google developers to work together with some applications. “If there is an opportunity, we are pleased to collaborate with them. In particular it would be nice to collaborate to develop applications or level of the operating system. ”
Unfortunately, the two platforms are incompatible but a partnership could create a new super power in the mobile landscape. Just think that today Symbian holds 67% of the market, while Google 61% of the sector of mobile searches.
